Mr. Brad,

This is the only way I was able to contact you, internet here in Afghanistan is highly unreliable.

My wife and I are looking to move out to the country after my military service comes to an end. We have our eyes on a 40 acre piece of land. I want to build a ahome and working farm/ranch. I would like to produce all my own food, however earn my spending money as a Carpenter (my former and much beloved trade). Eventually we would like to increase productivity and expand our variety to sell specialty home grown/made goods at a general store that we intend to own in the next 20 or so years. Here is the catch.. How do I start? We are willing to work our behinds off in order to get where we want to be, its our way, however we have no clue where to start. Have you any advise for us?

Thank you

Hi Matthew,
I have a few other posts that might be helpful...

If you are looking for land in Texas, try http://www.trrn.com/default.asp

Being patient and working hard will eventually get you there. It took us 12 years to finally find the farm.

Best wishes and health!
Brad
